Stretch marks do happen when you gain too much weight and when you are undergoing pregnancy or having hormonal imbalances. They do however cause no harm and often times will not hurt at all. Their damage however, will be on the aesthetic level. Because of it, you might no longer want to go out to public places and you might revert to constantly wearing clothes that cover you up more. Beach gatherings might no longer be your favorite occasion and the summer season will be very hard for you. During these gatherings you will no longer want to wear as comfortably as before for fear of showing your unsightly stretch marks. Though it doesn't really bother people, you might get too paranoid about it.

Sunbathing can help you heal your stretch marks. Though it is very hard for you to do it at this point, your efforts will not be in vain. Just try not to do it during gatherings, if it bothers you so much you can go to the beach on your own. The sunlight can help activate your skins melanin, doing so can help heal your stretch marks. Vitamin D from the sunlight can add to the rejuvenation of your skin cells. If the beach is too far or too crowded, you can set up a lounge chair in your backyard or go to a tanning spa instead. In order for you to even up your skin tone especially on the areas where your stretch marks are, you will have to sunbathe or use a tanning booth. Obviously, you don't want tanning sprays since it will just temporarily cover up your stretch marks but will not aid it's healing. Take advantage of the heat from tanning, this is what activates your cells again and this is what reenergizes your skin.

Just get enough treatment and never overdo it. Get ample sunlight that is just enough to warm your skin a little bit and to tan you a little. Constantly be aware of the time you spend sunbathing or the time you spend inside the tanning booth, do not fall asleep while you are sunbathing. Remember, your stretch mark exposes the underlying skin layer and that layer is very delicate and very fragile. Unlike your skin's outer layer that has all the fibers and collagen, the middle layer is not that well adapted to exposure and is not very well protected. The treatment is not meant to be done each and every day, you will have to ease up on it and sunbathe a few times every week or use the tanning booth mildly a few times every month. Sunbathing is most beneficial when you do it in the early morning when the sun is not that hot yet. Always try to not get any sunburns especially on your affected areas.Remember skin cancer does happen and believe me, that is a thousand times worse than having stretch marks. Before you go to sunbathe or try the tanning booth, drink lots of water and try to apply the best sun protection lotion that you can get prior to sunbathing and don't forget to rehydrate and moisturize after.
